Marcia Banks was an illustrator, who had a 25 year career in fashion illustration. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and attended Pratt Art Institute and the Art Student's League and graduated from the Parsons School of Design.
Her work was seen in national newspapers and ads for Bloomingdales and many other top stores. Her career in fine art took off in the 1980s as Martin Lawrence Galleries and Banks Fine Art sold her paintings across the country.
She is listed in "Who's Who in American Art" and received the Generoso Pope Award in New York.
In 1993 Marcia Banks and her husband moved to Dallas, Texas to be near her two sons and two grandchildren. She had been traveling the United States, Paris and London and is incorporating scenes from these places into her paintings.
Banks was honored for her works by receptions by Reme Krug, the National Kidney Foundation and The Adolphus and Melrose Hotels in Dallas to name a few.
