  • Biography

    Bill Condon (1923-1998) Houston Artist

Bill Condon was a native Houstonian, a practicing architect and a fine artist in his home town. He received a BA in architecture from Rice Institute in 1949, and assumed a position in the architectural firm of Broesche and Condon Associates. As an artist, Condon was ingenious, excelling as a print-maker and painter. He experimented with a wide variety of media in the conduct of his work. Condon showed regularly in the Annual Exhibition of Work by Houston Artists from 1954 to 1962. In these local exhibitions, Condon won prizes for print-making (1954-1955) and painting. His painting Rice Institute #4 was a purchase prize-winner in 1960. In addition, his works were included in several of the Texas General Exhibitions.
