    Albino Hinojosa was born in Atlanta, Texas in 1943 and lived his early life in Kildare, Texas. Upon graduation from Linden-Kildare High School he attended Texarkana College where he studied under Otis Lumpkin. From there he attended East Texas State University and studied under Charles McGough, Dr. Paul Kelpe and Jack Unruh. After graduation in 1966 he worked for Ling Temco Vaught as an illustrator where he received numerous honors in the commercial art field including Best of Show in Industrial Arts Methods Exhibition in Baltimore, Maryland in 1967. Since 1969 he has been exhibiting in fine arts exhibitions all across the country while teaching at Louisiana Tech University and helping to develop their Campus Graphics Department.

    He is presently a member of the New York Society of Illustrators, Dallas Society of Visual Communications, International Society of Acrylic Painters (formerly National Association of Acrylic Painters), American Society of Portrait Artists, National Portrait Institute (Charter Member) and most recently the International Guild of Realism.

    Hinojosa has exhibited in fourteen one-man shows and has paintings in permanent collections at the South Arkansas Art Center in El Dorado, Arkansas, and Masur Museum in Monroe, Louisiana, the Louisiana Tech University Art Gallery in Ruston, Louisiana the Louisiana State University Art Library, Eunice, Louisiana, the Tyler Museum of Fine Arts in Tyler, Texas, the Museum of American Illustration in New York City, New York, as well as over 100 pieces in the Louisiana Tech University Archives.

    Albino Hinojosa retired from teaching at Louisiana Tech University in 2000 and paints out of his studio at his home in Ruston, Louisiana where he primarily devotes himself to promoting realism in the art world.
