  • Biography

    Robert Harrison (Born 1949)

Robert Harrison was born in San Antonio Texas and spent many summers as a
child in Wimberley, Texas with his grandmother, Myrtle Lowery Harrison, who
introduced Robert to painting and encouraged his interest in it.

Over his career which spans nearly half a century, Harrison's work has
sold in fine art galleries in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and as far
away as Carmel California. Robert's love of the Texas hill country is
evident in his paintings and he is considered by many art authorities to
be the best living landscape artist in Texas. Cecelia Steinfeldt,
curator emeritus of the Witte Museum, listed him as one of the top ten
bluebonnet painters of all time in an article in Southwest Art Magazine,
    April 1985.

His number one fan was Dolph Briscoe.  Governor Briscoe purchased many many of his works
for gifts, his own enjoyment as well as investments.

Harrison is best known for his bluebonnet scenes, but he masterfully
captures the beauty of Texas' rivers, Spanish missions and  ranching
heritage. His work has been featured in San Antonio Magazine, Southwest
Art Magazine, and Art International. Robert's work is sought after by
private collectors and corporate collections in the United States and
    internationally.
